Gold-Vision’s data enrichment integration with Clearbit helps you gain insight in your customers. Information is being pulled from hundreds of public data sources around the web in real-time to ensure the information is up to date. The integration pushes the data automatically in your Gold-Vision.
ENRICHMENT turns emails or domains into actionable data like address information, company size, Twitter or LinkedIn profiles and saves you valuable time in research. Enrichment can be used on Gold-Vision Leads, Contacts and Accounts.
PROSPECTS will find contacts at a company as well as their job titles and email addresses. Find the email address of a person you only know by name, or find all Marketing Managers at a prospect company.
The Clearbit integration is available on a subscription basis, and offers you a maximum number of tokens per month or year.
Per 1 ENRICHMENT request, you will use 1 token.
Per 1 PROSPECT request, you will use 10 tokens.
Please contact your account manager for more details.
Account Enrichment retrieves data from Clearbit based on the website of the account being queried. If no website is recorded against the account, you can provide one in the Enrichment popup screen. Supplying or altering the website in the Enrichment popup screen will not edit the Account's website value.
When creating or editing an Account, move your mouse over the icon in the bottom right hand side of the Account record you will then have 2 options - Enrichment or Prospects. Select Enrichment
This shows:
Gold-Vision Field: All the fields which have been mapped in the Admin Console
Clearbit Value: The data retrieved from Clearbit
Gold-Vision Value: Data already in Gold-Vision
Import: You can choose to import all/no fields by selecting the checkbox in the row.
Click Enrich to update the Gold-Vision record.
Click Save to confirm or Undo if you don't want to keep the data.
Contact Enrichment retrieves data from Clearbit based on the email address. If no email address is recorded against the Contact in Gold-Vision, you can provide one in the Enrichment popup screen. Supplying or altering the email address in the Enrichment popup screen will not edit the contact's email address.
Data available via Clearbit is returned in the "Clearbit" column. If there is already a corresponding Gold-Vision value, the field will not be marked to import automatically but you can choose to overwrite the Gold-Vision value by selecting the corresponding Import checkbox.
In this instance, we want to update the First Name in Gold-Vision with the data found by Clearbit. The Gold-Vision value is crossed out to indicate this.
You can quickly choose to import all/no fields by selecting the checkbox in the Import header row.
The Enrich button will be disabled if there are no fields selected to import.
Selecting the Enrich button will update Gold-Vision in edit mode.
Note: This means you can undo the changes by selecting Undo or confirm the changes by selecting the Save.
The fields available for enrichment can be configured in the Administration Console.
Note: Gold-Vision will wait for up to 20 seconds for Clearbit data to be returned. If no data is returned within this time, you will receive an error message. You can retry the query after a few moments have passed.
Lead Enrichment retrieves data from Clearbit based on either the website or email address of the Lead being queried. The email address value takes precedence and will return more both Account and Contact enriched data.
When enriching via website, only company data is returned. If no website or email address is recorded against the Lead, you can provide one or both in the Enrichment popup screen. Supplying or altering the website or email address in the Enrichment popup screen will not edit the Lead's existing values in Gold-Vision.

Once you have created your Account you can use the Prospect option to search for prospective Contacts, based on the website of the Account being checked.
We recommend searching by Job Title.
Note: a maximum of twenty records will be returned, please use the search bar to narrow down your search.
Any Prospect who may already exist in Gold-Vision is indicated with this icon and a link to the potential match.
At this stage, Contacts within the same Account with a matching name are found. This is only an indication of a potential existing Contact and should not be treated as fool proof. Hovering over the information icon will indicate that a match by name was found and the existing Contacts' email, if any.
You must select "Purchase" before it is possible to import a Prospect as a new Contact.
This unlocks the "Import" checkbox and retrieves (purchases) the email address from Clearbit if available. At this stage, the search for existing Contacts is performed again based on the email address. If a matching Contact is found, the Gold-Vision Item info message and link is updated. If no match is found for both searches, the Import checkbox is automatically checked.
It is possible to create a duplicate Contact or import a Contact even if no email address is returned if you choose to do so.
Click Import Contacts.
The Lead Prospect search retrieves prospective Contacts from Clearbit based on the website of the Lead being queried. If no website is recorded against the Lead, the system will automatically determine a website based on the email address of the lead. (Using the domain name)
If no email or website is available, you can supply a website value in the Enrichment popup screen. Supplying or altering the website in the Enrichment popup screen will not edit the Lead's website in Gold-Vision.
Clearbit initially returns a criteria-free list of prospects based on the website supplied. We encourage you to supply a keyword in the "Job Title" search field to query for specific roles within your target business. This often yields better results than the default list. It is not uncommon for the default list to return few or no prospects. This does not mean there are no prospects to be found.
You can also choose to search by "Name". If you choose to do this, search for the Prospects full name.
Note: Both search fields (Name and Job Title) target Clearbit search features.
A maximum of twenty records can be returned from Clearbit. This is a Clearbit enforced limit.
You must select "Purchase" before it is possible to import a Prospect as a new Lead. This unlocks the "Import" checkbox and retrieves the email address from Clearbit if available.
At this stage, the search for existing Contacts is performed again based on the email address. If a matching Contact is found, the Gold-Vision Item info message and link is populated. If no match is found for both searches, the Import checkbox is automatically checked. It is possible to create a duplicate Contact or import a Contact even if no email address is returned if you choose to do so.
The 'Import Contacts' button will be disabled if there are no Prospects selected to import.
Selecting Import Prospects will create new Leads in the same Lead list.
It is possible to automatically enrich new prospects created via this process. This feature can be toggled on and off in the Administration Console.
You can choose to switch to the Enrichment Process by selecting the Enrichment tab.
Access to Data Enrichment is controlled via the Data Enrichment User Access Option in the Administration Console. One access option allows access to Clearbit data enrichment as a whole. Other Access Options settings are still applicable; e.g. A Gold-Vision user without the "Contacts - Edit" permission will be unable to enrich Contact data.
Users who have this Access Option configured will see a Data Enrichment button available when creating / editing Accounts, Contacts and Leads. The button's appearance is slightly different for Leads.
Automatically enrich new prospects
When a new Contact or lead is created from the prospects enrichment process, only name and email address are populated if available. Provided an email address is returned during the prospect process, it is possible to automatically enrich the new lead or Contact. Contacts are enriched using the Import Clearbit People into Gold-Vision Contacts module and Leads are enriched using the Import Clearbit People and Companies into Gold-Vision Leads module (see below).
Automatically close window when enriching
When the "Enrich" button is pressed during the Enrichment process, it is possible to close the Enrichment pop-up window immediately rather than having to manually close the window. This feature can be toggled on and off using this Administration setting.
Add notes against items when enriching
Each time the "Enrich" button is pressed, a new note is created against the Account, Contact or lead which describes the fields imported, the previous Gold-Vision value and the new Gold-Vision value imported from Clearbit. The purpose of the note is to indicate the "Enrich" button has been used against the item and offer a record of the changes made. If required, the note creation can be switched off in the Administration Console using this setting.
The mappings available for each "Module" can be accessed by selecting the "Configure" button to the right. All of the modules correspond to an Enrichment process; there are no modules to configure for the prospect processes.
Please note that many more mappings than displayed above are available.
These mappings are used when enriching an Account. The Third Party Field lists all the available Clearbit fields to enrich from.
The Gold-Vision Field allows the Administrator to select which Gold-Vision field the Clearbit value will write to. If this is left empty, the value will not be mapped.
The Default Value allows you to specify a default value to write to the Gold-Vision field. Typically this is used more for accounting and Eventbrite integrations.
The locked Test Value field is populated when a test domain is supplied and the "Search" button pressed at the top of the page. We encourage you to test your own website address. The purpose is to allow the Administrator to see examples of data being returned by Clearbit so an informed decision can be made as to which mappings to set.
